Bills Trading of Star WR Stefon Diggs to Texans

By: Sean Davis - 4/3/24

HOUSTON, TX - The Buffalo Bills have decided to trade their star wide receiver, Stefon Diggs, to the Houston Texans. The Bills will receive a 2025 second-round draft pick, and send a 2024 sixth-rounder and a 2025 fifth-rounder to Houston.

Diggs, who is 30 years old, has been a consistent performer for the Bills, earning a Pro Bowl selection in each of his four seasons with the team. Throughout his time in Buffalo, he has averaged an impressive 111.3 receptions, 1,343 yards, and 9.3 touchdowns per season.

This Texans' are strategically building a winning team around quarterback C.J. Stroud. They have already made notable moves like trading for running back Joe Mixon from the Cincinnati Bengals. On the defensive side, they secured star pass-rusher Danielle Hunter in free agency. With Diggs joining their offense, the Texans now have a formidable lineup that includes Stroud, Mixon, receivers Nico Collins and Tank Dell, and tight end Dalton Schultz.

On the other hand, the Bills have made some changes of their own this offseason. They have released key defensive players and let go of starting center Mitch Morse to manage their salary cap. The #Bills will carry over $30M in dead money by trading away Stefon Diggs.

Both teams are making moves to improve their rosters, and it will be exciting to see how these changes impact their performance in the upcoming season.

The Houston Texans are scheduled to host the Buffalo Bills next season, so the NFL schedule makers now have to factor in a Stefon Diggs revenge game. The Texans also play the Cowboys, which could lead to sibling rivalry between Stefon Diggs and his brother, Trevon.

Are the #Texans the best team in Texas now?
