KANSAS CITY, MO - Patrick Mahomes and the reigning Super Bowl champions have secured a valuable addition to their team. Carson Wentz, the former No. 2 overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, is set to sign a one-year deal with the Kansas City Chiefs. This move marks Wentz's fifth team in as many seasons, after his time with the Philadelphia Eagles came to an end following a challenging 2020 season. Despite unsuccessful attempts to secure a starting role with the Indianapolis Colts and Washington Commanders in 2021 and 2022, Wentz now joins the Chiefs as a veteran backup.

With Mahomes leading the QB room, Wentz brings his experience and knowledge to the team. Under the guidance of head coach Andy Reid, Wentz has the opportunity to further his career and contribute to the Chiefs' success. Standing at 6-foot-5 and weighing 237 pounds, Wentz is not only a skilled passer but also a capable runner, making him a valuable asset to the team. The Chiefs have found their next veteran backup, and Wentz has found a new home in Kansas City.
