Chiefs trading CB L'Jarius Sneed to Titans for 2025 third-round pick, swap of 2024 seventh-round picks

By: Sean Davis - 3/23/24

The Tennessee Titans have acquired CB L'Jarius Sneed from the Kansas City Chiefs in exchange for a 2025 third-round pick and a swap of 2024 seventh-round picks.

Sneed, who recently won Super Bowl LVIII with the Chiefs, is expected to receive a new contract with the Titans. Kansas City allowed Sneed to seek a trade partner before free agency began, but then later placed the franchise tag on him to ensure they wouldn't lose him for nothing. Prior to the trade, Sneed had earned over $5.5 million in his rookie deal and was set to make $19.8 million in the 2024 season.

The Titans, led by new head coach Brian Callahan, have been active in free agency, adding players to their roster. Sneed, 27, will join a team that has made a strong push to improve. Sneed started in 67 games and made significant contributions on defense with the Chiefs. While Kansas City will miss his talent, they were able to retain star player Chris Jones by signing him to a lucrative contract. Trent McDuffie is expected to take over Sneed's role as the Chiefs' top cornerback.
