DALLAS, TX - The Dallas Cowboys and free agent running back Ezekiel Elliott, might both be open to reuniting. They haven't reached a deal yet, but there is mutual interest between the two parties.
Dallas was impressed with Elliott's performance during the 2023 season with the New England Patriots. Despite facing a high-ankle sprain that sidelined their top rusher, Elliott stepped up and played in all 17 regular-season games.
Last season, Elliott signed a one-year deal worth $3 million with the Patriots in August. However, he spent the first seven years of his career with the Cowboys. Now, as he approaches his 29th birthday on July 22, both Elliott and the Cowboys are open to the possibility of a reunion.
During his time with the Patriots, Elliott made a significant impact on the field. Despite running behind an ever-changing offensive line, he managed to accumulate 642 yards on 184 carries, with three touchdowns. Additionally, he showcased his versatility by leading the team in receptions with 51 catches for 313 yards and two touchdowns.
Standing at 6 feet tall and weighing 226 pounds, Elliott was the fourth overall pick in the 2016 draft by the Cowboys. He has had an impressive career, leading the NFL in rushing in two of his first three seasons and earning three Pro Bowl selections. With a total of 8,904 rushing yards, 71 touchdowns, and 356 catches for 2,649 yards and 14 touchdowns, Elliott has proven himself as a formidable RB in the league.
