Jake Rosenberg, the Philadelphia Eagles' salary cap executive, has decided to pursue advancing his career within the NFL

By: Sean Davis - 3/28/24

Rosenberg, who has been friends with general manager Howie Roseman since their elementary school days, has been an integral part of the Eagles organization since 2012. Prior to joining the team, he worked as a trader in bonds and commodities. Within the Eagles, he holds the official title of vice president of football administration.

Reflecting on his decision, Rosenberg shared, "Over a significant period of time, I've contemplated whether or not I have the opportunity to progress in this league and continue to grow. Ultimately, I've come to the realization that the sacrifices required to pursue this path may not be worth it from a life perspective."

Roseman expressed his gratitude for Rosenberg's contributions, stating, "Over the past 12 years, Jake has played a pivotal role in our team's success. Beyond that, he has become a true friend, forging lifelong connections within our organization and throughout the league. While it saddens me to see him go, I wholeheartedly wish him nothing but success in his future endeavors."

At 48 years old, Rosenberg openly acknowledges, "I proudly tell people that I work for the finest general manager in the NFL." His ultimate aspiration is to become an NFL general manager himself, highlighting his involvement in player evaluation and analytics, in addition to his expertise in managing the salary cap.

Nicole Lynn, the agent for quarterback Jalen Hurts, took to X to express her admiration for Rosenberg, stating, "Jake is exceptional at his job and an even better person. The Eagles will undoubtedly feel his absence, but I wish Jake all the best. Remember this tweet, he's a future GM."

Roseman's journey within the Eagles organization began in a salary cap role, steadily climbing the ranks until he was appointed general manager in 2010. Under his leadership, the Eagles have secured eight playoff appearances and reached two Super Bowls, ultimately winning the championship in the 2017 season.
