London Showdown: Falcons vs. Jaguars Preview

By: Sean Davis aka Sean-E Football

The NFL returns to London for the 2023 International Series, and the stage is set for Matchup between the Atlanta Falcons and the Jacksonville Jaguars. This will be the 25th NFL game to take place at Wembley Stadium.

The Jaguars aim to leave their troubles behind as they face the Falcons on their unofficial home turf, looking to get back on track after two losses. The Falcons, on the other hand, are determined to return to the win column in their third-ever trip overseas. They carry a four-game winning streak against the Jags into this matchup.

Let's dive into three things to watch for when the Falcons and Jaguars go head-to-head in London.

Will Trevor Lawrence and the Jaguars start a turnaround? Lawrence's recent performance hasn't lived up to expectations, and the Jaguars need him to shine. Lawrence was a catalyst for last year's playoff push, but he's struggled lately. Can he use this change of scenery to get back on track? Facing a strong Falcons defense, it won't be easy.

Next up, can Bijan Robinson bounce back after a tough game.

Robinson, the No. 8 overall pick in this year's draft, has been impressive but struggled in last week's game. How will he look in Wembley? The Jaguars have a solid run defense, so Robinson will need to find creative ways to make an impact. The Falcons' rushing offense, ranked ninth, needs to step up. If they rely too heavily on Ridder and the passing game, it could spell trouble.

Finally, a reunion in London as Calvin Ridley faces his former team. Ridley, once a rising star for Atlanta, now plays for Jacksonville. He'll be eager to shine against his former club. Ridley is a dynamic part of a Jacksonville offense, and should be extra motivated in this game.
