The NFL has confirmed that games will be played on Christmas Day in 2024, continuing the tradition of providing a gift to fans. The matchups for that day have not been determined yet. Last year, three games were played on Christmas Day, including Ravens-49ers, Giants-Eagles, and Raiders-Chiefs. These games have consistently drawn high television ratings, with the Ravens-49ers game alone attracting over 27.2 million viewers. Since the NFL first held games on Christmas Day in 1971, there have been a total of 30 games played on the holiday, with nine of them taking place since 2020.
