Saints' Playoff Hopes in Jeopardy: Derek Carr Sidelined with Oblique Injury

By: Sean Davis - October 9, 2024

NEW ORLEANS, LA - Saints QB Derek Carr is expected to miss multiple games with an oblique strain. Derek Carr's was injured during 4th quarter of 26-13 loss to Chiefs, and he will likely miss at least 2 games. The Saints are currently 2-3, and on a 3-game losing streak. Carr's 2024 stats so far have been pretty impressive as he has thrown for 989 passing yards, 8 touchdowns, and 70.3% completion rate (2nd best of his career).

Who's stepping up?

Jake Haener filled in vs Chiefs, and went 2/7 for 17 yards. The Saints seem to be eyeing rookie Spencer Rattler as potential starter, who was once considered a top QB prospect in college. Can the Saints weather the storm without their veteran QB, or will this injury derail their playoff hopes?
