The NFL has officially reinstated Isaiah Rodgers, and he's ready to play in Philly

By: Sean Davis - 4/25/24

PHILADELPHIA, PA - After being suspended last June for violating the league's gambling policy, Rodgers is getting a second chance with the Eagles. The team signed him last August, knowing he'd have to sit out the entire 2023 season, but now he's cleared to participate in all team activities.

Rodgers, a 6th round pick by the Colts in 2020, has proven he can make an impact at the NFL level. In 45 games (10 starts) with Indy, he racked up 88 tackles, 10 pass breakups, and 3 interceptions. He even became just the 6th rookie in Colts history to return a kickoff for a touchdown.

"We believe in second chances, and now it's on him," said Eagles GM Howie Roseman last year. "He's got to apply for reinstatement, so I'm not taking that for granted, but we're excited to work with him."

Head coach Nick Sirianni is also familiar with Rodgers from their time together in Indianapolis, so he knows the kind of talent the 26-year-old cornerback brings to the table[5].

With the NFL's new kickoff rule changes for 2024, Rodgers' ability to be a game-changing return man could be a huge asset for the Eagles. This is an exciting addition to the roster as Philly gears up for the draft and the upcoming season.

Welcome back, Isaiah Rodgers! The Eagles are getting a hungry, motivated player who's ready to prove himself. This is a move that could pay big dividends for the defending NFC East champs.
