The NFL made history in Brazil, and Saquon Barkley stole the show as an Eagle

By: Sean Davis 9/7/24

PHILADELPHIA, PA - The Eagles kicked off the 2024 season with a bang, edging out the Packers 34-29 in São Paulo, Brazil.

Saquon Barkley had a debut for the ages:

- 3 touchdowns (2 rushing, 1 receiving)

- 109 rushing yards on 24 carries

- First player to score a TD in North America, Europe, and South America

A.J. Brown torched the Packers' secondary with 4 catches for 108 yards and a 67-yard TD.

Jalen Hurts showed flashes but struggled with turnovers, throwing for 278 yards, 2 TDs, and 2 INTs.

The Eagles' defense bent but didn't break:

- Zack Baun: 2 sacks, 11 tackles in his Eagles debut

- Reed Blankenship: Crucial interception

Jordan Love kept the Packers in it with 3 TDs, including a 70-yarder to Jayden Reed.

What did you think of the NFL's first game in South America? And is Saquon Barkley the missing piece for the Eagles? Let me know in the comments!
