The Washington Commanders have a new head coach, former Dallas DC, Dan Quinn

Dan Quinn's Return to the NFC East - Washington Commanders set to hire Dan Quinn as their new head coach. Quinn, former Cowboys DC, brings defensive expertise to Washington.


Quinn's Background and Achievements and Addressing Defensive Woes - Named 2021 Assistant Coach of the Year, and led Cowboys defense to two top-12 finishes in total defense. Washington finished last in total defense in 2023. The team fired defensive coordinator Jack Del Rio during the season, and then let go of HC Ron Rivera. Hiring Quinn to revamp the struggling defense.


Quarterback Situation - Second-year QB Sam Howell's future uncertain after disappointing season. The Commanders own the No. 2 overall pick in the 2024 draft, and an opportunity to select a top QB prospect to lead the team.


New Leadership for Washington - Owner Josh Harris completes first head coach hiring process. Quinn expected to bring stability and improve the Commanders defensive.
