NASHVILLE, TN - Titans head coach Brian Callahan said Burks "is going to have to contribute" on special teams this season. With the additions of Calvin Ridley and Tyler Boyd, plus DeAndre Hopkins already on the roster, Burks is unlikely to be a starting wide receiver. Callahan explained, "When you're not the full-time starter, you need to contribute somewhere on game day."
Treylon Burks entered the NFL with lofty expectations after the Titans selected him in the first round in 2022 with the draft pick they acquired from trading away star receiver A.J. Brown to the Philadelphia Eagles. Burks' lack of production and inability to stay on the field has been a stark contrast to the sustained success Brown has enjoyed since departing Nashville.
Despite being a former first-round pick, Burks played just 1 snap on special teams last season while struggling with injuries and limited production (16 catches, 221 yards, 0 TDs).
Callahan praised Burks' "attitude and approach to special teams has been fantastic" and said, "I believe he's an asset on special teams.
