Big changes are coming to NFL broadcasts, and Tom Brady stepping into the TV booth.
Tom Brady won’t call an NFL game for Fox Sports for eight months. Greg Olsen, Fox Sports' top game analyst, is preparing for his final regular-season broadcast.
Next up? Tom Brady, set to take over with a hefty 10-year, $375 million deal, despite speculation about his seriousness to this new role. Brady mentioned on his Let’s Go! podcast his dedication to getting ready for the broadcasting booth starting in September.
Former teammate Devin McCourty confirmed Brady's preparation efforts, mentioning how Brady has been studying and gearing up for the broadcasting world.
ESPN's top NFL play-by-play announcer, Joe Buck, expressed openness to working with Brady and mentioned discussions about collaborating to prepare Brady for his debut.
Veteran broadcaster Bob Costas suggested Brady might be better suited for the studio due to the easier fit in terms of preparation for broadcasting games.
Greg Olsen's future at Fox remains uncertain after calling playoff games this month. There's talk of Olsen potentially returning to the main booth if Brady were to leave after a season or two. Brady's TV debut should be exciting.
