Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter is one of the most intriguing NFL Draft prospects in recent history, but as the draft approaches, one question remains: Will he be a cornerback, a wide receiver, or both?

Travis Hunter is a rare dual-threat talent who excelled as both a lockdown cornerback and a dynamic receiver at Colorado: Known for his ability to shut down opposing receivers with elite ball skills and physical coverage. Showcased outstanding athleticism and hands, making him a top offensive option for Colorado. Hunter’s unique abilities have made him a top-five prospect in the upcoming draft, taking place in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

NFL teams are split on how to best utilize Hunter’s talents: Some teams envision him as their shutdown corner of the future. Others see him as a game-changing wideout.

"They want to see how much I can handle, and it's up to me at this point," Hunter told The Associated Press.

While some teams are even exploring the possibility of him playing on both sides, concerns about snap counts and time in meeting rooms could affect his ability to consistently deliver elite performances in the NFL.

Hunter remains confident in his ability to handle the physical demands of playing multiple roles: "I think I just need to see if my body will allow me to take all of this," Hunter explained. "But I do a lot of treatment, so I’m able to keep up with my body and what I need for my body."

Despite the physical challenges, Hunter has shown no signs of slowing down and is determined to embrace the opportunity to make history as a dual-position NFL player. While the NFL Draft will determine where Hunter lands, his positional role may not be clear until after camps and preseason practices: Hunter is projected to be a top 5 pick. Whichever team selects Hunter will likely need to make a strategic choice about his primary role.

Hunter’s ability to thrive in both roles could make him a franchise-altering player. Whichever team selects him will inherit one of the most exciting and unique talents in years.
